Assam on global map, says will put Ratan Tata Semiconductor manufacturing

Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Pvt Ltd is establishing a semiconductor unit in Assam. The facility, with a capacity to produce 48 million chips per day, is being built at a cost of Rs 27,000 crore.
Industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata recently highlighted the significance of Tata's semiconductor manufacturing venture in Assam, stating that it would place the state on the global map. Assam Chief Minister Sarma expressed gratitude to Ratan Tata and Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran for establishing
the semiconductor facility. Ratan Tata emphasized that these investments in Assam would revolutionize cancer care treatment, showcasing the state's potential in sophisticated semiconductor production. He credited Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his support and vision in making these developments possible.
Ratan Tata recently announced the establishment of a center aimed at empowering youth from the Eastern region of India. The center will provide courses in Artificial Intelligence, semiconductors, and electronics, with the goal of helping them secure jobs at the Jagiroad unit. Currently, around 1,500 youths from Assam,
predominantly women, are undergoing training at Tata facilities located in and around Bangalore. This initiative is expected to position them in leadership roles once the semiconductor facility becomes operational in 2025, as mentioned by Sarbananda Sonowal.
"On behalf of the people of Assam, today in Mumbai I conveyed our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Ratan Tata and Mr. N Chandrasekaran for displaying remarkable conviction and faith in our State to execute this mega game-changing investment," he posted on 'X'. "We expect the first chips to roll out by 2025," he added.
